Jacobs + Bradshaw= BFFs; Giants Face Cowboys

http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/giants/brothers_in_blue_PrpdunYEXFR0miHeyB70qN?CMP=OTC-rss&FEEDNAME=

With no Giants’ football this Sunday, the press had time to focus on other things regarding the NFC East leaders. Brandon Jacobs, who had not gotten much attention since angrily throwing his helm into the stands and being fined $10,000 for doing so (one of the worst things to happen to sports since a Rangers-Giants World Series), along with Ahmad Bradshaw, got to share details about their deep-rooted friendship. It’s uncommon for two players of the same position, on the same team, to get along so well- but Jacobs and Bradshaw are like Martin Lawrence and Will Smith in bad boys. Their “significant others” are best friends, too, and they usually dine out together.

Their bond is so strong that it was not disturbed when, back in June, they were informed that Brandon Jacobs would lose his starting position to Bradshaw. They are also a formidable team, with “Bradshaw [leading] the NFC in rushing with 582 yards, and Jacobs [scoring] four touchdowns in the past three games.” The Giants face the Cowboys on Monday. Trailing in last place of the NFC East with only one win, they still hold a 54-38-2 record against the Giants. This year’s Chiefs and Bears are a testament of how unpredictable the NFL can be.

Xbox Partners with Time Warner Cable- ESPN Fans Benefit

http://www.engadget.com/2010/09/29/xbox-live-fall-2010-dashboard-update-preview-espn-netflix-sear/

By partnering up with Time Warner Cable, Xbox Gold members will have the opportunity to watch live sporting events and “replays of anything ESPN has the rights to stream.” As an Xbox owner, I will be taking advantage of this feature. All videos “stream on HD,” which makes the experience more enjoyable given the right kind of internet connection. To add to the list of features, a mere press of a button will prove enough to bring up a screen of all the scores for “current, recent, and upcoming games, sortable by sport, and if [the event is] on at the moment, you can quickly jump to the game with a press of [another] button.” I feel that this feature will be enough to bring a whole new audience into the Xbox Gold membership ranks, as $50 per year is hardly a high price to pay for a seemingly-unlimited amount of footage.

Kolb is Given a Chance to Lead the Eagles; He Blows It

Today, in what proved to be an interesting game, Eagles fans cheered Donovan Mcnabb as he entered the field. The former Eagles quarterback had a very mediocre game, yet still led the Redskins to a victory over Philadelphia. The Redskins started the first quarter with a commanding lead of 14-0. However, they lost their momentum, but still ended up winning 17-12. During the game a few interesting things happened. First, Mcnabb was cheered as he entered the field. Also, Kevin Kolb got a chance to prove that he is capable of starting for the Eagles due to an injury to Michael Vick. Vick suffered a rib injury and was forced out in the first quarter. Kolb’s performance was as disappointing as it was during the opening game of the season, though. After a rough game, Kolb had a chance to give the Eagles the victory. With four seconds left in the game and with the end zone within passing distance, Kolb lobbed the ball hoping somebody would catch it, but it was dropped. Evidently, he did not impress anybody in this 4th week of the season.
